Details of the Toastmasters Leadership Institute

TLI, Toastmasters Leadership Institute is a twice yearly event for Officer Training. Officers and want-to-be officers and leaders are invited to attend. Here are the details of the event happening on January 25th

WHEN: January 25th, 2020

TIME: 7:00 am registration, Gavel 8:00 am

PLACE: Glendale Community College

WHAT: 3 Speakers, Officer Breakout Training, Lunch and Town Hall Meeting


Past International President

Alfred Herzing, DTM, PIP

Alfred Herzing is passionate about leadership and Toastmasters. He is a leader in every detail. He understands all of the roles in the organization and the challenges officers and other leaders face. He is presenting, “Drive your Ferrari”.  This speech will motivate, encourage and change how you feel about your leadership role. He will share how asking people to serve with confidence instead of begging people to serve is really how we lead others in the organization.


District Chief Judge

Melissa Roughton is our District Chief Judge and will present a key topic for contests, judging prejudices. Our International Speech contest season is on the horizon. District 52 wants to have our best member competing in Paris in 2020. To do that we must choose the best without prejudice.

Training Coordinator

Marcia Bruce Bush will share the nuggets and jewels of the tools on Club Central in Toastmasters International. Officers need to mine data for the success of their clubs. Learning to use the tools on Toastmasters.org is Marcia’s specialty.
Her energetic presentation will give officers new insight and set them up for their personalized breakout sessions that follow



Town Hall and Free Lunch

This year, Program Quality Director, Circe Denyer, DTM along with District Director, Agnes Lewis, DTM and Club Growth Director, John Murray, DTM, has planned a special session following the officer breakouts. District 52 is buying pizza for lunch for everyone and while we are enjoying ourselves, we will have opportunities for those in attendance.

Awards for Educationals Achieved

If you have earned and submitted a Level 5 in any path in Pathways, we will be presenting you with a Pathways pin! If you have achieved an educational in the traditional program, we will present you with the highest earned educational up to DTM.** DTM medals and awards presentations will be saved for the Spring Conference on May 16th.

Open Question and Answer Session

Leaders and members in attendance can get real-world answers for everything from Contest, Pathways, Policies, Leadership Opportunities and any other topic which you may want to get answers.
