If an Area has four (4) assigned clubs or fewer in good standing, the Area has the option to allow two (2) contestants from each club to compete in the Area contest. Contest Masters from the Area contest should make sure the eligible clubs are aware of this.
Should additional clubs charter prior to the Area contest, two (2) contestants from each new club are permitted to compete also.
Only one winning contestant from each Area will be moving on to the Division contest.
Only one winning contestant from each Division will move forward to the District contest.
This is a District decision for the 2020-2021 term based on the Speech Rulebook 2020-2021; page 8:3B
Per Rulebook page 7:
Each club in good standing is permitted to choose its contestant for each Area speech contest by whatever means the club desires. If a
contest is held, it must comply with the rules in this rulebook, and the contest result is final. The Area speech contest winner then proceeds to the Division contest. The Division winner then proceeds to the District contest.
