2025 International Speech and Evaluation Contests 

Here’s what you need to know:
1️⃣ All contests above the Area level will be in person. Get ready to connect and compete face-to-face!
2️⃣ Contest Trainings are happening now. Make sure you’re prepared—whether you’re a contestant, judge, or contest chair, there’s training to guide you.
3️⃣ Contests are a great opportunity to achieve your goals!  They can count toward your High Performance Leadership (HPL) or Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) project.

International World Championship: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: August 20-23 2025

Description and Eligibility Requirements for Contests

International Speech Contest:
Contestants present a five-to-seven-minute speech on any subject they choose.
Speech Evaluation Contest:
Contestants observe a five-to seven-minute test speech and then present a two-to three-minute evaluation of the test speech.
Eligibility
International Speech Contest Only: earned certificates of completion in Levels 1 and 2 of any path in the Toastmasters Pathways learning experience.
In general, any individual who is performing the role of a contest official, including judges, counters, Sergeant at Arms, and a contest Toastmaster, cannot compete in a contest in which they are serving or in a contest in which the outcome of the contest they are officiating will be affected.
Additionally, District, regional, and international leaders—including current officials and candidates for future roles—shall not compete in speech contests.
Lastly, education session presenters and event committee chairs for the event where the contest is being held may not compete.
