It’s a Wrap!
D52 Spring Conference; International and Evaluation Contest on Saturday, May 14, 2022
As we continue to face challenges in this time of uncertainty in the midst of the Covid pandemic, I am certain of one thing, District 52 Toastmasters are resilient and going strong.
Gratitude is the one word that expresses my feeling of thankfulness for each and every one of YOU who said YES to supporting the 2022 D52 Annual Conference and D52 Evaluation and International Speech Contests. It’s because of YOU giving of your time and talents that both events were a phenomenal success.
The tech team led by Albert Lin, Infinite Jim Michael, and supported by Lawrence Quesada kept our Zoom meetings running smoothly, moving attendees in and out of breakout rooms, ensuring audio and video feeds were optimal so we could all enjoy the virtual events without interruption.
Conference Master Bill Anderson and Contest Master Steve Savage set a warm and welcoming tone for our audience. I truly appreciate their input to script content and messaging to make the experience relevant to the guests and Toastmasters who joined us.
The SAA’s Chris Hogan, Lupita Damien, and Melissa Roughton; timers Jeff Harman and Alethia Coleman; inspirational speaker Lance Webster; and ballot counter John Murray and ballot master Judy Thang; and pledge of allegiance/mission reader Steve Pinto; who all put their best Toastmasters skills and talents to use. Because of you, we finished both events on time with no major hiccups.
A BIG thank you goes out to Catherine Ghaffari, Conference Contest Chair who helped tremendously with planning the event. Hidi Lee, conference book ad coordinator, and Akemi Mora, graphic artist for compiling the first-ever digital flipbook. And our dedicated Chief Judge Peter Genter and admin support Paul Reyes for bringing excellence to our contests. Last but not least thank you to PR Manager Alex Casteleiro and D52 Director Lawrence Quesada who offered unwavering support to the events.
Each and every one of YOU contributed to the success of Saturday’s events and for that, I am truly grateful! It was fun working with you all and I am especially in awe of your willingness to support District 52, some of you stepped up at the last minute.
Wishing YOU ALL the best as D52 closes out the 2021-2022 term strong and I look forward to continuing the D52 legacy of excellence in the upcoming 2022-2023 term.
